surprise

December 5 at about 8:30, I was on my way to the office to get some things done before I went to the dentist to be with my 95 year old mom. I promised her I would be there. I stopped at the light at Ridgetop and _________. It was a grey day and might have been drizzling and the road was wet. I was stopped for a few seconds and all of a sudden there was a loud crash. My hands flew up in to the air (I remember because I was wondering what they were doing there. I looked in my rear view mirror and saw a grey car with a very smashed front end. I realized I had been rearended. I pulled my car into a non drive space and the other car followed me dragging her front bumper. She got out as did I and asked if I was hurt. I wasn't bleeding and there didn't seem to be broken bones. I noticed cars driving over the remnants of her car and walked over to clear them from the road. I asked someone to call 911 and a firetruck came. I didn't think I needed to go to the hospital ( I was worried about getting to the dentist to be with my mom). I asked T\the young lady if she had a cell but she said no and then she found it. I called my husband who came. The police came and we handed our registation, license and proof of insurance. The girl's friend (boyfriend?) came. I filled in the accident report. Bill pointed out that I kept writing my maiden name. I called to make an immediate appointment with my Dr. my call was transferred to him (Dr Tracy) and he told me to go to the ER. I drove my car and Bill the other car. We arrived. Bill helped me walk in as by now I was feeling dizzy. My head hurt really badly as did my knee, lower back and shoulder neck area. When I changed into a gown, I felt really nauseated and the nurse gave me a vomit bowl. I didn't vomit. I remember several things very well.
1. I was cold
2. I was sobbing
3. I had difficulty answering the Dr.s questions. I understood them but couldn't quickly respond.

They gave me a valium and motrin and 2 prescriptions and sent me home. I spent the day sleeping...and that night also. My husband didn't go into work. I didn't go to the dentist but wouldn't let the dentist tell my mom why i stood her up. she would have been upset.
Spent a lot of time that day in tears. My knee hurt. When I came down the stairs I had to go one step only then bring my sore leg to that step. Bill bought pizza for dinner.
